Gabby Zapata is a character designer & art director in the Animation Industry.

She currently works as an Art Director for Disney’s Lorcana TCG at Ravensburger. Previously, she worked as a character designer at Paramount Animation where she worked on the movie, Smurfs (2025). She continues to work for various animation studios as a character & costume designer, direction and development.

She has experience in leading teams, art direction, and design for various Feature, TV, and series projects. Gabby has experience working in Feature & TV pipelines, 2D & 3D pipelines, Adult and Pre-K shows.

Gabby is also a children’s book illustrator on books such as, The Ofrenda That We Built, You Be Teacher, and Little Golden Book “Cinderella: A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”.

She has exhibited her work in solo and group gallery shows such as WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney, Disney Animation Studios for Hispanic Heritage Month, amongst many others.

Born in Los Angeles, CA, Gabby has a multicultural background from her parents being from Mexico & Colombia. After being raised in various US states & Mexico, she attended Ringling College of Art & Design and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts for Computer Animation. She is not afraid to use color in her work and embraces diversity and inclusivity that our world has.

Gabby currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
